Men's Housing
We have constructed eight luxury safari tent structures that include a raised wooden deck, awning, and canvas tent. Seven of the tents have been furnished with two bunk beds with twin mattresses on them, a desk and a dresser. The estimated cost per tent and furnishings is around $4,000. This means that we can house thirty-two male students and interns on campus, reducing the costs associated with driving to and from school. The cost of these tents has been $35,000, and though this is an amazingly low number in comparison of other options, it remains as one of our most outstanding debts.
Men's Campus
We have also built a four-shower facility for the men. The materials for this cost us $2,000. Because the church property does not yet have electricity coming onto the property we have purchased a generator for the men’s campus, which cost $12,500. We also have purchased two port-a-potties for the men’s campus which cost $2,000 each. We obtained a vehicle for transporting students in: this may cost as much as $5,000. The total amount for all of these costs has been $19,500.
Women's Housing
The women's housing has been in a formerly used long-term care house up in the Wailua Homesteads. It has been a great blessing to us to find this property that has served so many purposes. The facility is comprised of three main parts, a two-story building as well as a separate living area. The female students live on the lower floor, the second floor is our common area, kitchen, and female staff/intern living quarters. The separate wing has served as married staff/intern housing, as well as our office. This facility is being renovated over the next year as a part of the lease. We spent at least $15,000 to get it operational for the students to use the facility.
In all we are hoping to raise $70,000 to pay off our debt incurred in starting this new campus by the end of the Summer. This is a relatively small amount of money in order to start such a huge ministry. Getting this project debt free will mean that we can keep our tuition low and a broader range of students will be able to afford this wonderful opportunity.

God has opened up a door for Calvary Chapel Kauai to start
a groundbreaking ministry to young men and women from
around the world. During the summer of 2007 Calvary Chapel
Kauai began construction on a new Bible College facility
and began hosting its first full time semester in the fall.
There were 16 interns who worked through the summer to
prepare the campus, and 30 students who attended in the
fall.
This new campus has been a worthy investment of money and
resources because the campus has been preparing a new
generation to go to the uttermost parts of the world. It is
a bridge for the gospel to go out to Southeast Asia and
beyond. Individuals from the church in Kauai have already
given tremendously towards the establishment of the campus,
but it is a venture of faith for the church because the
start up costs is outside the ability of their budget. This
is a wonderful opportunity for other churches and
individuals to be a part of laying the foundation of this
new ministry.
Above is a list of the costs involved in starting this new
campus. Please prayerfully consider which aspect, if any,
of these costs you would like to be a part of and give
toward financially.
